Required Qualifications of the Medical Scribe :
- 2+ years of medical scribing experience.
- Fluency in Spanish and English is an essential job requirement.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and abbreviations.
- Proficiency with Athena Health (AthenaOne) EMR/EHR.
- Experience supporting Senior Primary Care/Geriatric Medicine providers.
- Experience documenting care for patients with chronic conditions and complex medical histories.
- Knowledge of home health integrated care models:
- Home health nursing services
- In-home therapy services
- Care coordination teams
- Transitional care following hospital discharge
- Understanding of care plans for elderly patients managing chronic illnesses or recovering from injuries or hospitalizations.
- Minimum typing speed of 60 WPM.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer literacy, technical aptitude, and basic troubleshooting skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Organization and time management skills
- Technical/Computer Requirements of the Medical Scribe:
- Reliable, high-speed internet connection (WIFI or ethernet)
- USB heet with microphone
- Laptop or desktop with updated security
- Private and quiet workspace
